How well do you communicate?

Communication, I find it interesting enough that I have decided to make my very first post based on this noun. This could very much be the most meaningful and most important word in the dictionary. Communication is such a powerful tool yet we often tend to over look it and take it for granted. As human beings from the time of birth we have always had our struggles with this concept of interaction. It would be assumed that as we mature and time passes that we would eventually master the concept of communication, but as we all know that almost always isn’t necessarily the case. Mostly it would be quite the opposite; the learning stage eventually becomes stale. Whether in a relationship, friendship, or business partnership communication must always be clear. However, a certain number of us actually like the challenge of testing one another in this department; I am typically referring to the idea of “game”.

I was once told that trust, communication, and respect are the most important ingredients for a healthy relationship or marriage. I could not agree more. Oddly enough I learned this in a classroom; a twelve year old boy crying and sitting with a group of strangers forced to reminisce on the years of past. Little did I know that I had learned a valuable lesson that day; for which I incorporate today in my personal and professional day-to-day business. I am sure at one point we have all wondered why communication could not be simpler. Whether we thought a simple exchange of “I like you” should be sufficient or the initial expression of disinterest in a businesses services.

I myself am not an expert, and I truly believe we should all improve in this category. Even with all the countless books and entries I have read, especially in body language and voice inflection, I still have much to learn. If there would be anything I would like for you to grasp from this entry it would be that the continuation of growth in this category is essential and vital for human interaction, which we all know is not perfect, therefore with the will for improvement ultimately happiness will follow personally and professionally.
